NewArtFoundation – Casa Navàs, mapping by Alba G. Corral

Casa Navàs is a building designed by the architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner and located in Plaça Mercadal in Reus; it is the great modernist jewel of the city. Modernism is a transversal movement that integrates all kinds of creators and trades in order to make their proposals a reality.

In the 21st century, technological art reflects transversality by uniting artists, scientists and technologists in proposals where the algorithm is the basis of the ecosystem. Focusing on this idea, the artist Alba G. Corral will make a semi-permanent mapping, adding a new skin on the facade of this building, joining the best craftsmen of the time who together created this emblematic construction of the city of Reus. The mapping will be inaugurated on May 26 on the occasion of the exhibition BEEP COLLECTION: ORIGINS  that will take place in Cal Massó.

From May 26 to 29 and from June 10 to 18. Different sessions going on from 10pm.

La Casa Navàs és un edifici que fou projectat per l’arquitecte Lluís Domènech i Montaner i que es troba ubicat a la Plaça Mercadal de Reus; és la gran joia modernista de la ciutat. El Modernisme és un moviment transversal que integra tot tipus de creadors i oficis per tal de fer realitat les seves propostes.

En el segle XXI, l’art tecnològic reflecteix la transversalitat tot unint artistes, científics i tecnòlegs en propostes on l’algoritme és la base de l’ecosistema. Incidint en aquesta idea, l’artista Alba G. Corral realitzarà un mapping de caràcter semipermanent, afegint una nova pell sobre la façana d’aquest edifici, sumant-se als millors artesans de l’època que van crear junts aquesta construcció emblemàtica de la ciutat de Reus. El mapping s’inaugurarà el 26 de maig amb motiu de l’exposició BEEP COLLECTION: ORÍGENS, que tindrà lloc a Cal Massó.
